Applied Digital Learning Journey Synthesis

It is staggering to reflect on what I have learned and created over the past year in the ADL program. I was a good teacher before the program, and I will be a good teacher after I complete the program, but my room for growth and transformation is now boundless. I have learned strategies for influencing colleagues, methods for higher, deeper learning, and technical skills for education purposes. But the most important thing I have learned in this program is how to create significant learning environments that provide my students with choice, ownership and voice through authentic learning experiences.

There are countless ways to achieve a significant learning environment, but at its core, the environment must be built upon relationships and forming connections to create meaningful learning experiences. In the following pages, I have reflected upon my progress with my innovation project as well as my continued understanding of how to implement CSLE+COVA in my classroom. Even though I have completed my master’s degree, the learning journey has just started. I have yet to implement my blended learning innovation project, and I am already dreaming of how to guide my students through the process of creating their own ePortfolio. Transformation is never without struggle, but I am confident that I have the mindset, knowledge and skills to persevere and build a classroom where students can be the masters of their learning.
